What does "magicjack ready" really mean?

Hi there everyone,

I'm looking around for an HP thin client and I'm finding two general groups for sale, that being a used client with no prep and a client with xpe and is labeled "magicjack ready".

The problem I'm running into is nobody is telling you what that means. Is it so whizz-bang that it warrants the double in price I'm finding?

Good question and from what I have been able to find, there is not much difference.

MJ ready usually has USB and Ethernet ports set not to shut down to save power. Non-essential software like Citrix and Altiris have been removed. There may be more differences that others can point out.

he describes a little of what goes into making a TC MJ ready. Granted all sellers may not go to these lengths, but at a minimum, they have installed a MJ dongle and verified it working, so when you buy your MJ and plug it in, the software is already installed and you should be able to go right to the softphone (or hardline) and make a call with no fuss.
