I need help to configure hardware

Please, I need help to best configure my MagicJack on a dedicated HP laptop, a high speed cable modem and a linksys router. I need this help because the calls audio is poor, it is difficult to carry on a conversation. My lonksys is dual band. the HP is only 2 years old and the magic jack is the newest as it was bought only 6 months ago.
