Incoming Calls - Problem hearing other person

Hello - OK another problem with my MJ - Sometimes when calls come in - and I pick up the call - the voice on the other end is a quiet and garbled voice on the other end. IE - my wife can call me from her work and sometimes it is ok and other times it is just like I explained.

Is this my MJ or maybe can adjustment be made to correct the problem.
