Calls choppy and dropped within 45 seconds after upgrade

Post by redpriestown »

The subject pretty much says it all. Spent the past hour and a half with online chat tech support. Obviously not much help.

This only happened with the new upgrade. Could be a coincidence though. Anyone know if there's a good way to test if my dongle is dying?

Otherwise, anyone know if I can revert to the older MJ interface?

Running: XP Pro, I'm in campus housing so I have a really fast connection (18mb up and down).

Anyone else having this problem?

So after 2 hours, the technical support was able to resolve it. For some reason, uninstalling the MagicJack from the device manager (both on CD/DVD drive, and Disk Drive), then installing magicJack again seemed to work.

interesting solution. Glad it worked for you. Perhaps they upgraded the device drivers, as they're changing the way the device shows up on your computer. And somehow yours didn't update properly.
