cannot receive calls....

Post by zacapp »

I had this Magicjack for more than year and since last 4 weeks I’m cannot receive any incoming calls. it goes direclty to message.. "This person on extension.... is not available." I had chatted with MJ tech many times and but no solution and atlast I got a replacement MJ two days back, still I cannot receive any incoming calls, but I can make outgoing calls.. in the my computer, instead of MJ drive I see CD drive F, anybody here faced this kind of problem , would appreciate if anyone could help in trouble shooting this problem.. thanks..

Thanks Joe for your reply, yes, i did search but could not find any solution.. here my case in more detail.. This MJ was working perfectly in my laptop, but does not work in desktop, then i started chatting with Mj tech and one of them remotely looged into my desktop and changed settings and at their end too, and could make outgoing calls from my desktop but no incoming calls, when i plugged back this MJ into laptop, i had only outgoing and no incoming calls. i chatted with many MJ tech guys for four weeks but still i i do not have any solution in sight..
When i plug MJ with Shift key, i see the MJ drive in my computer, the moment i upgrade it changes to CD drive F ... any idea why this happens, but i can still make calls but just i cannot receive any calls.... thanks

SOMETIMES when one can not receive calls it is a setting in device manager, the USB section. You need to check and see if ALL ( more than one) USB ROOT HUBs do not have the power saving feature enabled. Also if you are using the extension cord which came with the MJ, don't. It is a piece of crap which causes more problems than it is worth. Also be sure to use a rear USB port as it makes a difference ( on your desktop of course) and above all else if none of that helps you need to try a POWERED usb hub.
As far as the Mj drives goes they have been that way ever since a March Lucky You update which not only changed that ( as the flash drive in the MJ was disabled) but also put OUR contact lists on THEIR servers.
If all else fails try sending an email to [email protected], some of us have gotten better srevice that way..
