MagicJack and text messaging?

Post by gnimsh »

I'm just wondering if its possible to send and/or receive text messages with magicjack? I admit I don't know much about how it works, I just thought that since its connected to the internet it might be able to send them, if not receive...

thanks for the help

No, not really. The easiest way to send SMS (text) messages to cell phones that I know of is simply to email them to
So, if your friend's cell phone number is 212-555-1212, just send email to [email protected], and it will appear on their cell phone as a text message. If they reply to your text, it will be sent to your email.

You can read more about it here.

Well, I have no idea how to send them (other then the above post)...
But I'm pretty sure you can receive them.
Because if you send a text message from your cell phone to a regular land line (don't know about magic jack,
haven't received mine yet),
their phone will ring, read the text message for them and give them the option to reply with a voice message.

... At least that works here in Canada.

Try it out.
