Magicjack Sip on Android

Hi

Does anyone have magicjack sip credentials working on an android mobile phone?
Which application and settings are you using?

I am trying with Sipdroid but it does not work.

Not w/o "MJMD5 for Android" - not yet developed. But it is possible through WiFi, if the host is running MJMD5. However, since latest update your credentials have changed, why there currently is an issue to run MJMD5 for a lot of people.
However, there are a few, yet, untested solutions:

Here is a idea I have not tested this yet. Though hopefully once my droid x comes in I can.

1. Root the phone. The main system is a Linux variant. The root installs parts of tiny box i believe or another small Linux package.

2. Modify mjproxy to run on the droid.


Issues: Battery, space and most be rooted.

We're basically on the same page, but I don't think the solution is as complex.

The two options I have mentioned in some other posts are:
- virtually run Ubuntu on the Android phone and run the Linux version of MJMD5 on this VM, or as you mention - solution provided, but not tested.
- recompile the MJMD5 "C" source code to an Android .apk, and then have a true Android version, or .apk file.
But, what do I know, I'm just a user, not a coder:)

On the other hand I read somewhere that aSip is planning to have MD5 support in their next release. They are supposedly already having it in their iPhone version, iSip, as have siphon in their application.

Works great I use csipsimple on my Droid x with mjmd5 on my nix server I have and it works flawlessly now I got my new username and password with this new update.

The idea genxweb has would avoid the WiFi connection to the server, but instead using MJMD5 directly on the phone.
