MJ last about 6-9 hours

Post by ordnanceferret »

I have read many of the problems but this one is a little different.

After boot up Magic Jack works just fine. I can call out and receive calls. Because I do not receive many calls, it sits idle after I make my calls. After about a half a day I get a message on my phone display screen "Check Telephone Line".

At that point I can still call out, but I cannot hear anybody talking with me. I use the Task Manager to shut down MJ, disconnect the device, and re-install it after a minute or two wait. It boots up and works fine for about another half day.

I had this problem with Windows XP Pro and now with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You may want to check in device manager your USB ROOT HUB power management settings ( more than one root hub entry) Chances are they are checked to save power. Uncheck them all and see if that helps.

ONE THING THOUGH. Others have reported on Win 7 after a reboot they go back to being checked for power saving mode for some people. So keep that in mind.

I just found out that the USB Root Hub being reset in Windows 7 can be fixed by:

1) Going into your power plan.

2) Click on "change plan settings", then click on "change advanced power settings"

3) Open up "USB settings", and open "USB selective suspend setting", and disable.

It worked for me. Good luck with anyone else having the issue.
