MagicJack Not Accepting Renewals

Post by healthweb »

Used MJ for 1 year with no issues. Just tried to renew and got confirmation. Then an email saying my order was cancelled and

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for your order of the magicJack on 09/29/2010. Due to the overwhelming demand for the magicJack, we are at this time only accepting orders from those who have not previously ordered a magicJack. Please visit us again in the future and we will try to accomodate everybody.

We are pleased to announce that magicJack's are now available at Radio Shack and Best Buy. Please click the Best Buy or Radio Shack link if you would like to order your magicJack today.

Thank you for your interest in magicJack.

Yours truly,
magicJack

Guess they don't want customers renewing their service. Anyone else had this issue. Looks like my business is going elsewhere.

Not sure how you went about trying to renew but I just did it without a hitch and the site tells me I'm good until 10/20/2011.

One thing for sure, I didn't try to order a magicjack, just a renewal.

Resolved

I sent an email to: [email protected]

Received several messages that the issue was fixed (wasn't), and also that they were working on it. Two days later got an email from [email protected] indicating the issue was fixed and my subscription was extended. Checked the site, plugged my MJ back in, all now working correctly.

Note: I renewed throught their website. Received a confirmation that it was renewed. Although the process was a bit poor, MJ handled the problem. Would not suggest using customer support.

i was subscribed to the 5 yrs plan yet it deactivated me

Post by castellani »

i woke up the other day to it saying i had to renew why would i have to renew when i was subscribed to a 5 yrs plan on each of my magicjack lines, i have 2 lines one for me and one for my son, and both of them went down same time ,so i tried to renew and it charged my credit card $1.00 3 times , i shouldnt have to renew when i had another 4 yrs left on my subscription, so what they have decided to cancel all of us who had a 5 yrs plan and now we dont get our money back and my phone is deactivated too, thats just totally unfair.

Dumb question, IF you had 5 years then why did you renew???? I mean if I got an email from MJ telling me I had to renew when I knew I had time left ( ESPECIALLY 4 years!) the first thing I would not do is go ahead and renew!! I would contact their online support to see what is what....
Also the $1 charge can be a hold on your debit/credit card.. LOTS of companies do this to see if the CC# you gave is legit..
So contact MJ online chat...
