There has been a TON of chat regarding NetTalk elsewhere in the forum.

It might not be a bad alternative if MJ ends up blocking half of the free world. I check out their forum about once a week or so, and they still don't appear to have all of their kinks worked out either.

Got my Nettalk DUO in September and used coupon for 25% ($17.25) off. My son ordered one this month using same coupon code and it worked.
Regardless, having MJ as backup and Nettalk as 24/7 line still a good deal. Now have two outside lines @ total cost of $90 for a year whereas Verizon monthly bill was $87 - yes, just for a month.
And I guess I am one of the few who have had no trouble with either unit, no trouble faxing with two different fax machines - guess I should look for some wood to knock on :D

if you can fax with the nettalk that is a major plus ... !!!

I'd even consider it but it would have to work everytime and they would have to stand by it ... not pull a MJ ...

I stopped trying with the MJ as it was a joke after one of their updates stopped it ...

PS: what is the code for 25%???

Yep you can fax with the NT. They even point it out in their FAQ...

If and when MJ goes BYE BYE or they block the numbers I call the most then I will look into getting the NT. I wonder if they would let me port my MJ number to their unit?

Last post I read a few days ago, they don't allow number porting of any kind. So my guess would be....probably not. 8)

Too bad as that would have been a fitting one finger salute goodbye to MJ if they keep blocking numbers... And no not a thumbs up :) which is "technically" not a finger.

Nettalk is currently working onNumber porting. It is being worked on but there is no release date of implementiation. Number porting is not a easy feature to enable as there are regs and other "obstacles" to work through it has taken MJ forever to get to Beta as an example
