Sparatic problems when making or receiving calls

I have had the MJ for a few months now. I just had my computer cleaned out and windows 7 was put on. My MJ is finicky now. Sometimes I dial out and whom I'm calling can't hear me or vice versa. Other problem is when people call they are getting a standard MJ voicemail that says the customer cannot be reached. I have spent hours on technical support online chat. Go over and over the same HELP> nothing has worked. Any suggestion from a real person would be greatly appreciated. One more thing isI cannot make a 1-800 number call either. I live in Canada with a US area code.

I had initiated a chat with MagicJack tech support because I kept getting this problem, from time to time; someone would call, my answering machine would pickup, but the caller heard nothing and would hang up and try again. Then I would pick up and say hello and again nothing. The caller heard nothing and I heard nothing. I in turn would call the number back and would hear nothing when they picked up. When I finally called them back on my cell, they said they heard nothing either.

Here's what MagicJack tech support had me do:

1.) Clear my IE temp, cookies and history files.

2.) Change my DNS to 67.90.152.122 and 67.107.71.186.

3.) Change my Right-Click on My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Performance-Settings->Advanced->Process-Scheduling to Background Services

4.) Restart MagicJack.

I realize that, because I have XP Pro, this may not be a fix for Windows Vista or 7, or Apple Macintosh. I'll let someone with Vista or 7 or a Mac figure out the comparable, compatible fix for those OS's.

But, the BIG surprise was when I tried faxing, which failed habitually before, and it WORKED! First time and every time.
