MJ for almost 3 years now.....
I have my MJ for almost 3 years. I have "heard" the duo does have its problems including sound quality. Using a T5720 1Ghz/1Gb/1GB with my MJ and it works perfectly. I have a T5720 setup overseas (Phlippines) since the power adapter is 110-240v and wifey talks to family hours on end. Save bigtime ...

Just go to teamviewer.com and install the full free installation. Go from there and make sure you check for "personal" use and set it up to autostart everytime the computer reboots. That way you never need to hook up a monitor to see whats going on. Just teamviewer in from any other computer that ...

Actually for me its been great also. I will be hitting two years Dec 31st and have loved it so far. My only advice is to make sure you have the higher end thin client such as TC5720 1Ghz/1G/1G so that there are no issues. Clear sound and quality is great. Call Canada sometimes 2-3 times a day. Or go buy another dongle and get a new number with that dongle and return your broken one back in the package. Maybe that will show MJ peeps the flaws in their thinking on ATA.

Now this would be nice to have as a "cookie cutter" fix. As mentioned by the above author it is too advanced for the beginner such as myself. Would be really nice if someone with a clear understanding of this to put complete detailed fix for us to use. Thanks.

May I ask why this "worked better" than the PAP2 (assuming you had the PAP2 working before)? Doesn't the thin client need the MJ softphone software to work?

I believe the reason is clearly security related. The magicJack dongle design is flawed by the fact one can pull the SIP credentials from it. I believe if magicJack could have fixed this security flaw that they would have done so already. Can you imagine the financial loss the company would take ...

Re: IDEA!!
It seems that those MJ that were on an ATA around the time of the "update" no longer work on an ATA, but those that were not hooked up thru an ATA are still working on an ATA. Like mine was not plugged in during the time of the update and both still work on an ATA and didn't require any "updates ...

Stryker,
The only thing that's important are just a few settings under LINE 1, you shouldn't hafta change anything else on the router to get a dialtone. So, to start fresh, you're gonna need to do a hard reset on your phone router. If you aren't familiar with this, you just need to push a paperclip ...

Locked or unlocked???
Kind of sounds like your VoIP router is still locked.
Thanks for the response. So if I can't get in with the default passwords then would this definitely mean that the router is locked? How else can tell if it is locked or unlocked other than the adminstration page lock out? Thanks.
