When I first set up MagicJack it had an option Free Incoming Calls. My renewal date is coming up. But I may not have broadband much longer. I don't want to renew for a year just to get another week of service. So I'm wondering if I let the service expire if I will still be able to receive incoming ...

I've tried to check my voice mail from another phone. I dial my number, wait for the greeting to start, then press the star key. Nothing happens. It just continues on to tell me to leave a message after the tone. No prompt for password.

What am I doing wrong?

Quirky. Yesterday I had to Restart about 5 times to get the green button. It seems to change daily.

Guess this was related to the new need to unplug the device first, then shut down the soft phone. At least it seems to be working better. Comes up with green 911 button and more than 1/2 the time, my contacts download.

You may also close the dial pad without unplugging the device.

Simply open task manager (pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL buttons on the keyboard all at the same time.) Then go to Processes tab and end all magicJack processes in there.

Just registered my address for 911. Got a green 911 button with a drop down box with the address on the soft phone. Now it's gone? I don't want to call 911 just to test it. Does just dialing 911 do it? I couldn't get it to call before because, I'm assuming, my address wasn't registered or selected ...

Mine would hang sometimes, where I'd have to kill it. But sometimes it would close. But I always got the confirmation do I want to quit. Now since I updated 911 info, it just minimizes. No confirmation dialog. I have to kill it every time. I searched the Registry and didn't find any "minimize to ...

It's just flaky. Sometimes if I shut down the soft phone, then run it again, the contacts pop up. Sometimes not. Apparently now it's saving to the server when it feels like it.

Only sure way is text file.

Nevermind. Seems to be one of those deals where you just have to keep hammering it. I managed to close and open the soft phone with contacts there. I have to assume even though I couldn't go to MyMagicJack page, the info was saved... I hope. :(

Now that I have some Contacts in the list, there's an Add in the Menu to add some more. But I have no way to know if this effort will be erased as soon as I close the app. It's pretty flaky software.
