I agree it would be nice to be able to Identify which Jacks work with out the proxy.

I actually got version 1.1 to work by pausing it for a few seconds.
Testing version 1.2 now

EDIT: ver 1.2 working...win 7 ultimate

You may still have to play with the timing when pressing the enter key.

Contacts and call lists are now stored on MJ's servers. I don't think what you're trying to do is possible but I'm not an expert.

will this solution log a a missed call for every 4 rings? e.g. phone rings 12 times call log will show 3 missed calls from that number.

The option to try before you buy feature of Magicfeatures attracted me as well.
Compatibility, works with thin clients.
Price, its about half the cost.
The overall appearance of PCPhonesoft seems more professional.

This is really an outdated solution to disable voice mail but I understand you not wanting to spend more money.

The trick to making this work is to not unplug MJ before or after deleting the skin file. Also depending on which skin its using determines which one to delete. For example: with MJ ...

Works great on a HP T5720. Best feature for me is on demand recording.

I believe Google Voice has a 3hr time limit. I could be wrong but I think I read that somewhere.

I've been using MJ with Comcast for about a year without any problems.

I also have their phone service Comcast voice and there has not been any conflicts.

Vdot is going to release an app (some time this month I believe) that will allow you to disable vmail and a whole lot more. If you're having a hard time doing it manualy you might want to wait until then.

Yes outbound calling via ATA+G5+GV works and it displays your GV # on the caller ID. If you go to your Gizmo5 account the info is all there.

When I setup G5 this morning the 20 min warning was not there. Neither was this "Google Voice - Experimental Service" heading. It simply said "Google Voice"

You don't make changes to a file. deleting the big.skn file changes the softphone look so that you can see addional features. Then you just make your changes on the softphone itself.
The easiest way to get to the directory where you find the mj folder (mjusbsp) is to Click on Start -> Run then type ...

A logic assumption but first you need to be able to recieve calls before this would work.

This also happened to me a couple of times. When I dialed a number call waiting beeped and it was my gv number. I hit flash and the call just went trough.

The instructions provided here to disable voice mail are not meant to resolve the problems you're having. The only thing I can suggest is try tech chat http://tinyurl.com/27pzpm
and have them refresh your account and see if that helps.

Its only stored locally. If you unplug the jack mj voice mail will pick up the call.

ok here we go. first locate your mj folder. In winxp its C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\Application Data\mjusbsp. next you need to delete the file named big.skn or the small.skn. Then you restart your mj to reveal the softphone without the magicjack skin. Some of the old timers here will remember ...
