In order for anyone to give detailed responsive advice, you need to supply detailed probative information. For example, what is your Operating System? We can only imagine what "might" be going wrong on your side until or unless you tell us what your problem is. We can't visit your home and look for ourselves, so it is up to you to describe everything here. Without that, we are no better prepared to help you solve your problems than the folks at MJ chat.

Re: Does anyone know?
Try connecting directly to the MJ USB device without the short extension cord that comes with it. Or, use a different extension cable.igorb7 wrote:Does anyone has an idea about my question? Can you guys reply, please
Myself and others have reported that the extension cable is poor quality, with a poor fit between the cable's connector and the device's connector. I can move mine around a little to cause it to disconnect and reconnect to Windows.

See the MagicJack Wiki (FAQ, How-To, history and more).

keeps rebooting every three four min but at least stays ON after that....don't know what else to do,reallymurphy wrote:Start up Device Manager.
Go to each of the USB root hubs.
Right click, then left click on properties
Select the Power Management tab
Uncheck the box which allows the port to go to sleep to save power.
Did that help?
maybe it's because I am using MagicBlock?
..........it's OFF again
Similar problem when I first started using MJ
Just a thought. I had a similar problem with MJ constantly shutting down (the software that is) and restarting - often complaining about the USB port.
I found a post here that stated that some PCs USB ports cannot handle the power requirements of the MJ Dongle. (who came up with that?)
Note: I also was loosing any saved numbers, etc. And the Event log was constantly reporting disk errors (on the drive letter associated with MJ).
The solution was simple. Buy a powered USB Hub and plug the MJ into it. Since that time, the reliability of MJ has been excellent. I never have the disconnects - the voice quaility is better, etc. One other thing I had happening was that the MJ software would shutdown after a hangup of a call. To say the least, I was feeling like so many of those who "complain" incessantly about MJ. In the end, this solution (using a powered USB Hub) worked and fixed all of the problems I had at the time.
Hope this helps you.

I have had the same rebooting problem off and on for months.....This is what I found. The USB connection on the MJ is crap. After I attached the MJ to the back of my computer with a piece of double sticky tape (so it doesn't move around) and plugged that into the little extension that came with the MJ, than into the computer, all is good now.
Seems like the slightest movement of my tower or desk would make the MJ lose connection with the USB port and it would need to reboot. Hope this helps.
