If incoming dial plan I provided is not working well, then I will suggest you to leave blank option in In Dial Plan.

I'm curious whether sipsorcery.com can be relied on for daily use.
How stable is this environment? Is it available 24/7, goes down for periodic maintenance, etc?

Just so I get the facts straight: Is mysipswitch a workaround for using mj with a 24/7 ATA without the computer and dongle? If so, can it be used with *any* ATA?

Correct, no computer or dongle needed and should work with any ATA.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Another question: Is sipsorcery the same as mysipswitch? When I pasted and updated the inbound mysipswitch Ruby code into the textarea I received the following error:

Ruby dial plans cannot contain "require ", "include", "::", "`" or "system"

After changing the dial plan back to default, when I clicked the Monotoring tab, the Status prompt states "Not logged in"

What am I doing wrong?

Currently, MySipswitch is being phased out and only Sipsorcery accepts new accounts. Most of the Ruby coding is compatible and when I migrated to Sipsorcery from MSS, only the incoming code needed tweaking. The dialplans work great for a Voip system where you are using 2 or more SIP providers and when Magicjack ATA service is down, I can always use the my backup Voip system where the Ruby dialplans come in handy.

But if MJ is the only provider, you really only need a blank incoming and a one line script: Sys.dial("MagicJack)" for outgoing to basically work. There is really no need to use the Ruby script generator as its tailored to a "soon to be obsolete" Mysipswitch.

I would still rather use MJMD5 on my local router. I can control that. When Sipsorcery goes down, you are kinda sol till it comes back up.

Thanks for the additional config info synchron. I created a sipsorcery account, filled in the mj sip info and set up the simple outbound dial plan. MJ is my only VOIP provider. How do I connect sipsorcery to my ATA? Will I need to log in to the sipsorcery website every day?

BTW, the input text boxes on sipsorcery do not work with the Opera browser.

Same here. It cannot register. I am sick of this cat and mouse game. I am just going to buy 2 new jacks and use the old way.

ATA is now registering but I cannot get Incoming call or Out Going call even tho I'm getting a dial tone. This solution is not flawless, to get ATA to work we got to brainstorm a lot :x

It is something to do with sip sorcery. Could be their server or as some one pointed out IP ban

Hmmm..... It doesn't sound good. I couldn't check my SS status. If you guys have the issue, I think the dark night is coming.

My call logs show 'request terminated' but the timetags are from GMT 7/15 12AM onward so the server is probably down and everyone's asleep in the UK or wherever Aaron is. Guess i'll go back to mjmd5 until SS gets fixed.

Same here I think is time to move over DD-WRT router.

Oh well it was a good try, it look like they banned the IP.

If it is not SS issue, then MJ is blocking the IP coming from SS server. I think.

I'm having dialing problems. I setup sipsorcery with my PhonerLite softphone. I get the following errors when calling out:

when no dial plan created -> Error: Error loading dial plan
when dial plan created but empty -> Dial plan script was empty
when I used "...sys.Dial("magicjack")..." dial plan -> dial plan syntax error
when I used long Ruby outbound dial plan from mysipswitch forum -> timeout, no response from server

When I make an inbound call, it goes straight to voicemail.

I can post screenshots if needed. It's really frustrating seeing sipsorcery work for others but not myself.

EDIT: I just read about the possible IP ban.

Definitely a problem with sipsorcery

Post by MJuser403 »

Late last night I saw the "timed out" on my account at sipsorcery (looking at the SIP Provider Registration).

Still has the same problem today.

I am back to using my PC with MJMD5 running, and it is working.

I guess it is too easy for MagicJack to detect that all those calls were coming from sipsorcery and they banned it.

Ok guys you need to understand. There is two step registration with sorcery. One you register to sip sorcery and than sipsorcery registers MJ for you. You can still register to sip sorcery. But MJ on sip server is not registering. I hope people understand.

yah.. it sounds like a joke too.

ATA registers to Sipsorcery.. but Sipsorcery can't register to MJ (timed out error as its looking for UDP session not a sip)

I can verify that magicJack has blocked the sipsocery.com IP address. Anyone know how to get around this with maybe using a proxy server?

My PAP2T-NA is not registering. I left all the setting as it was when I was using it straight with MJ. I only changed the following:

Line 1 TAB
Proxy: sip.sipsorcery.com
Display Name: BLANK
User Id: MyIDOnSipSorcery
Password: PWonSipSorcery
Auth ID: BLANK

Setup Sip Account on Sip Sorcery as per directions. When I click Refresh under SIP Bindings it says Transferring data from www.sipsorcery.com for a long time but nothing ever comes up at the bottom of the browser.

In the log area is says
0 SIP Bindings are registered.
Bindings successfully loaded.

You missed the post just before yours from laserjobs.

MagicJack has blocked the sipsocery.com IP address so you'll never be able to register from sipsorcery to Majicjack.

Isn't there away around the block? Couldn't you use a forwarding url or something? I'm not sure how that would work forwarding to different ports... Dose anyone else know how to do this?

Anyways you could probably set up a local sipsorcery server (I'm not sure if magicjack is supported by the local sipsorcery server, but that would be just like running mjmd5.exe and you would have to have your computer on alll the time for your phone to work... ug

I am having problems receiving calls, they are going straight to voicemail. I can make calls using the phone, my device is a PAP2T also, any ideas about this. Thank you.

OMG, I just tried to call myself and it went straight to voice mail. :D I would not have know if you would not have mentioned it. how come I was able to call/receive on my EVO using the android app? but not on the PAP2t? hmmm

Edit: I have tried to call my MJ again and I was able to receive incoming calls on my ATA.
