I have magicjack attached to an AC powered USB hub. Works great in Windows 7 with clear crisp call quality. Some blips but for the most part, works fine.
However, if I put Windows 7 into sleep mode I run into a problem that I cannot find a response to.
When I return from Sleep, MJ restarts itself and reloads the softphone interface, however, it doesn't reconnect to my phone. I can dial from the computer, but I get no communication from MJ to my phone.
Is this a phone issue (don't have another to test right now) or an MJ issue?
Thanks.

Re: Windows 7 and Sleep
I just spent about 90 minutes in chat with MJ support, most of it with a 2nd tier support. They admit it is their bug, but can't say whether or when it will be fixed.riggs614 wrote:I have magicjack attached to an AC powered USB hub. Works great in Windows 7 with clear crisp call quality. Basically, their suggestion: never use sleep mode. I pointed out that MJ is not a "good citizen" with Windows power management, but they had no answer. Another problem - at least on XP, you can't hibernate the system if MJ is plugged in.
So I'm afraid the only solution is to unplug it and plug it back in.
Re: Windows 7 and Sleep
As a temp fix until MJ can get onboard with this issue, a possible method of saving some considerable time with the whole mount/dismount of MJ's USB dongle (at least in XP), is to go into MJ's softphone and use the "Restart" feature located under Menu, Advanced Users, Restart.
Hope this helps!

Can't say about XP, but on Win 7 (which is what this thread is about) restart does not reactivate audio on the phone interface. Has no effect. Only physical replug does it.Intimmy98 wrote:As a temp fix until MJ can get onboard with this issue, a possible method of saving some considerable time with the whole mount/dismount of MJ's USB dongle (at least in XP), is to go into MJ's softphone and use the "Restart" feature located under Menu, Advanced Users, Restart.
