Caller ID Fake Numbers

Caller ID Fake Numbers
Several unidentified numbers have appeared on my MJ caller i.d. Of course, it is true that MJ CID numbers are always unidentified. So I tried returning the calls. All of them claimed not to have received calls from me and not to have made calls to my MJ number. I am scratching my head trying to figure out how it came up with those numbers that supposedly called me, but didn't. Has anyone else experienced fake CID numbers with MJ?

A similar thing has happened to me recently. What I would do is perform some reverse look-ups on look-upable numbers, and visit the friendly person who is calling you, and question him face-to-face. Also assure him that 'prank callin' or whatever, is not nice, and may be considered harassment in some states.

Fake CID calls really fake?
I have called several of these "mystery" CID numbers back, and all of them have claimed not to have rung my MJ number. I'm beginning to wonder if MJ is capable of fabricating calls that never came in ... or reporting calls that did come in with the wrong CID number. I don't know of any way it could do this, but who knows.

I'm prettty sure magicJack wouldn't go around sending random CID to your magicJack.... 'the great Dan Borislow'? If so, I can assure you that it is just a 'test' by the great Dan Borislow, and that TnS will have no idea of it.
How do you know the people who you called weren't lying? They might just be a group of 5 year olds prank calling your number....

Sure, CID can be spoofed, but why would anyone go to all that trouble? I'm assuming the "fake" CID numbers that I've been getting lately on my MJ line are just the results of malicious mischief. In an case, there is nothing I can do about it, except to ignore them. Thank you all for your input and comments.
