--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes when I call someone it starts out fine then they tell me that I am cutting in and out or breaking up. I usually just call them right back but it is still a pain in the ass to have to do that. Also sometimes but less than the first problem , I can't hear the other party because they are cutting in and out.
I am not using a wireless router on the CP that MJ is running on.
If anyone can help me please do.
Most of the time MJ is great but lately everyone I call I ask them if they can hear me good and warn them that I may start cutting in and out and that if that happens I will call them back.
Why does MJ cut in and out?

Have you played around with the volume sliders on the softphone Menu then goto Volume/Headset Control? Make sure Telephone is checked then move the Speaker/Mic sliders, you'll have to play around with a bit.blodgee wrote:Posted: Thu May 12, 2011 4:40 pm Post subject: Does anyone know why Magicjack cuts in and out???

If you run a router some Linksys have trouble with MJ you might have to mess around with the some. I flashed my Linksys with DD-WRT firmware, this got my MJ working better, I run my MJ on a thin client so this frees up my computer.
Maybe this will help you out some.

I am using a D-Link router for my connection.
The volume is set to telephone which I am using and it's not a cordless.
The sliders for volume in the menu are up all the way.
The problem is with the my voice to the person I am calling. It breaks up like a bad connection. They tell me they only get every 2nd or 3rd word.
This problem is only occuring some times. I would say 9 out of 10 calls I make are good.
I thought more people would respond to this as I can't be the only one experiencing this?

I was told to put the volume controls all the way down by MJ tech support. That did the trick for me.blodgee wrote:nighthawks wrote:Have you played around with the volume sliders on the softphone Menu then goto Volume/Headset Control? I also read that if these are to low the caller ID won't transmit date to your CID.
As for the D-link router, not sure, there has been a lot of talk about port forwarding and QSO in the router itself, you can do some searching about these on this form.
Turn the sliders down to 1/4 up and see if this helps, you still might have to play with them a bit.

Makes me wonder why MJ put these volume controls in the menu if they
create problems????
