Sitting at home, I saw an email for a voice message come in, but I'm sitting by the phone and it never rang. I picked up the phone and dialed a couple numbers successfully. Then I used my cell phone to call the MJ number and got a busy signal(the phone was properly cradled).
I live in North Carolina and I have heard some people complain of phone issues due to Verizon handing over the landline service to another company. I'm wondering if I'm having a problem because of that or if the MJ switchboard system sometimes has problems?
Sorry for the ignorant wording, but I don't know much about the phone business. I just wasn't sure whose fault it is that people can't call me

That's happened to me recently. Other times I didn't receive an email, but had a voice msg when I checked. Or, the opposite: I receive the email, but when I check my voice msg it's not there.
I wouldn't use MagicJack for anything important, like a contact number when applying for a job.
MagicJack is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
Thanks for your response, but in regards to my question: Are there times that the MJ system is down(not the local hardware) or can I assume that if inbound call attempts receive a busy signal(again, when it's not an issue with local hardware), that it's the phone service leading up to the MJ proxy?
I ask because I've not really read any support threads concerning inbound call issues. It always seems to be tech issues with the hardware setup.
