It could be.. a new MJ works fine with the cable.. its so much better without the cable though.. much clearer IMO.

Yep same here, that is why I went for the powered USB hub. I keep my MJ and external HD on it. Never have had a problem.

I had a problem recently where I could no longer write to a Thumb drive. It used to worked, but stopped. Soooooooo I went to device manager and deleted EVERYTHING under my USB section. Then I rebooted and all my USB drivers were reinstalled. Guess what? I am able to write again to my thumb drives ...

Sure does sound like your MJ dongle is going bad, since another one works fine. I "assume" you have tried it on another PC just for $hits and giggles?

This august it will be 2 years Ive had the MJ and up until the last couple months its worked flawlessly...

However starting with a couple months ago I noticed sometimes the MJ would just turn itself off and the MJ icon would disappear on the taskbar..

Your Magicjack files are corrupted. This will fix the error: "Warning: Must Plug MagicJack into USB". Follow the directions below carefully.

Unplug the MagicJack USB Dongle. Go to "Start" in Windows and click on "run" and type "regedit" and press Enter.

im not 100% on this.. but what I would do is see what number comes up on your caller id on your cell phone.. if its your magicjack number then id say yes, but if its the originating phone number then I would say no.

something tells me that its the latter

Ive used the downgrade and it works great.. Problem is... everytime I reboot my computer I have to run the downgrade again... is there a reason for this?

Ive had my magic jack for about 1 1/2 years.. and Ive got about 5 others I bought for work.. and I havent had any problems ...

Thanks!! I'm going to try running 2 virtuals. If my machine can handle the load, it just might work. The plan is to assign a MJ to each virtual. I've litterally tried every tip, trick and hack in this forum. Vista is not my friend; I should have installed XP as my host. Here I go.....

I had one of my MJs set up with an email account, but now I want the incoming voice mails to be left on a different email instead... I went to the settings and changed the email.. Put the new one in and even deleted the old one, except the magicjack is still sending voicemail emails to the old email ...

Im sure its old news to you guys (I havent posted in awhile) but I noticed there is no longer a one hour outbound call limit for me.. Instead there is now a 2 hour outbound call limit...

So I guess theyre making more money.

Make sure your firewall recognizes magicjack as a safe application. I had a simialr problem and it was caused by my firewall blocking my incoming calls.

IF your cable gets turned off, your internet still works

Hey, just letting you know my cable got shut off for not paying the bill, yet the internet still works... it seems magicjack holds open that little corridor of 80k (or whatever) and lets the connection still work.. its limited though as your isp can block certain sites, etc.

Outbound calls are limited by a parameter in the software that is set when you contact the MJ server.

Inbound calls MAKE DAN MONEY and are not limited.

Answering other calls and stuff makes no difference.

Best VM Software to use?

Hey guys,

Ive seen people talking about being able to use multiple magicjacks via Virtual Machine software and I was wondering what VM software is best suited for this and what parameters you'd recommend as far as settings for the VM's RAM, etc.

Ive noticed this problem for the last few weeks myself.. But never differentiated whether I called out or 3rd party called in.. Right now, if I click over it seems I cant get back to the original caller.. Just figured its a network glitch or something..

Im new here... Ive got a few MJ's and they work great, but I just have one question.. Does anybody know if it is possible to run a MJ on a Windows 98 machine?

I know the website site officially says it only supports XP and Vista, but was curious if there was a driver for it anywhere ...
