It could be.. a new MJ works fine with the cable.. its so much better without the cable though.. much clearer IMO.bitstopjoe wrote:Maybe the MJ dongle IS starting to go bad and the extra resistance of an extension cord is pushing it over the edge??

Sure does sound like your MJ dongle is going bad, since another one works fine. I "assume" you have tried it on another PC just for $hits and giggles?

Thanks!! I'm going to try running 2 virtuals. If my machine can handle the load, it just might work. The plan is to assign a MJ to each virtual. I've litterally tried every tip, trick and hack in this forum. Vista is not my friend; I should have installed XP as my host. Here I go.....

Re: "Lucky You" upgrade? (6/8/2009)
Anyone else getting the "Lucky You" (kiss of death) forced upgrade?
It looks like the .dll version is 1.80.484.1. (The one from Dec. 17 is 1.80.466.3).
I run dongleless. So, the upgrade doesn't work. I'm reluctant to plug in the dongle and let it do the real upgrade. I'm thinking about blocking ...

Put the new one in and even deleted the old one, except the magicjack is still sending voicemail emails to the old email ...

IF your cable gets turned off, your internet still works
Hey, just letting you know my cable got shut off for not paying the bill, yet the internet still works... it seems magicjack holds open that little corridor of 80k (or whatever) and lets the connection still work.. its limited though as your isp can block certain sites, etc.

Best VM Software to use?
Hey guys,
Ive seen people talking about being able to use multiple magicjacks via Virtual Machine software and I was wondering what VM software is best suited for this and what parameters you'd recommend as far as settings for the VM's RAM, etc.
Any help is appreciated.

MJ and Windows 98
Hey everybody,
Im new here... Ive got a few MJ's and they work great, but I just have one question.. Does anybody know if it is possible to run a MJ on a Windows 98 machine?
