What are some of the phone models that enable setting the microphone volume via the phone itself?

On my cordless phone, others still can't hear me that well. On a corded phone, I've had better success.

Re: Kind Of Phone

I'm using a Uniden cordless phone. So, you think I should get a corded phone instead? Does anybody else use a cordless phone with success?
My Uniden EXA1978i cordless w/ans mach - works great! Being 900 MHz, it doesn't interefere w/WiFi link, either.

since I plugged in the new ...

Mine died, then revived...

I have indeed had the exact same issue previously. Device was deader than a doornail for about a week. Then it just started working again for no apparent reason.

From my first three extremely frustrating experiences of 'Tech Chat' I have decided that ...

Think I got it solved for now...

I used the following process successfully:
- restarted WinXP
- manually backed up all 'C:\<user>\AppFiles\mjusb' files
- deleted mJ/YMax registry keys
- unplugged all other USB devices
- restarted WinXP
- plugged mJ into powered USB hub
- ran ...

Uniden EXA1978i 900MHz works well... when mJ cooperates!

Got the 900MHz (ebay $2 + $4.50 s/h) to address interference issues with my 2.4GHz WiFi link. It rings, it dials and correctly displays caller ID. I also have a Vtech 918-ADX 900MHz on another duplex adapter w/an old Radio Shack caller ID ...

@kayatanon - Thanks for the procedure to reset mJ reg entries. I'm not terribly brave at changing/deleting registry entries (though I'm never scared to look). Very useful info!

That procedure -did- change behavior of my crappy-Jack. Now I get the following ...

Re: garbled voices

Right now, about one in five calls is normal. The rest of the time, the person on the other end hears me fine, but they sound like 5 people talking at once. It seems that this started after I installed an upgrade to MJ. I'd never had a problem before that, that I can remember. Could the upgrade be ...

Re: QoS & CPU Priority fix for mJ call quality issues

...back to dialing! :D :D :D

Three hours to West Virginia - not one single problem!!! Far-end party reported a tiny bit of echo, very brief, and only three times during that call. But no drops, no loss of audio, no jitter, no choppiness -- I'm VERY pleased!

I hope this fix works for others, as I ...

tb01,

Where did you find a 900 Mhz phone and why did you go for that frequency?...
