If you still have time left on your old MJ you could plug that into computer and access what you need at the same time your MJP is on. I used to do it when I had both MJP and original MJ. Might work for you ?

You should be able to make local calls without issue. The issue is the MJ does not always have agreements in place with all telephone companies to allow calls to go through. And in some cases 1-800 numbers are blocked completely.

Is Brighthouse and ISP/DSL provider ? Call them up or contact them and ask specifically if they block VOIP traffic. It's likely the cause.

Wow... this works great ! I can make or receive calls through my cell number on this handset with no issue. I can be in any room, or outside (range is amazing).

Now I don't have to leave my router and DSL modem on. :-)

When I leave the house the bluetooth disconnects, and the landline features ...

in one transaction. If you want to split the package, for $60 I can sell you phone# 1 and the MJ and MJ+ for that number.

yes... profit taking is all part of the give and take. Keep watching the stock though. Maybe they are having a tough time getting new subscribers and their revenue will be falling. This could be an early indicator of further trouble.

oh.... I assure you ... MagicJack Live Support is up and running... they are still useless though. They managed to talk circles as usual Tuesday night when I was doing a renewal on a Canadian phone# and had questions.

Yep... can hook up as many MJ+ as long as they have their own assigned phone#. Just be aware of network traffic through the router. If you are downloading a large file on computer and all the MJ+ are being used, the conversation might experience some choppiness.

PS: I have two MJ+ hooked up to one ...

And it best not to cancel your number or account with your existing provider. The new company you are going with will need all your info (account#, name on account, complete address). Then the new company will process your request.

If you cancel you account then there is nothing to port or ...

I think I know what he is getting at though.... if you use your cell phone and other party hangs up, your cell phone will close the line and will be ready for next call. I don't think landline handsets are not programmed that way. Hint hint.. anyone from Panasonic or Vtech reading this ?

Try porting your number to Freephoneline.ca ($50) if you need to drop your landline. This will allow you to keep your number. Does that help?

If MJ+ requires a $10 year maintenance for a ported Canadian number then you might be better off with freephoneline.ca

They only have a reasobale one time fee and then you can keep your existing number and then turn on "follow me" so anyone that calls you, you can punch in any ...

Spider - can you clarify ? If you have current phone# registered to original MJ and you want to use it with MJPlus ? That can be done with no issue.

If you have a Canadian cell phone# or landline and you want to buy MJPlus and port that number over, it's currently not possible.
