I did exact same thing through the web portal but my MJ+ will not take the settings. The traffic still comes from the old DHCP IP and not the new one I just assigned. I am not sure why this feature does not work correctly?

Ok...I see this discussion is something similar to what I am trying to do. I am trying to assign a static IP address to the MJ+ device and using my.magicjack.com/ Network Settings will not set the IP to the device. I just dont see a way how you can set a static IP address on the device that is in my ...

I apologize for not being very clear. I have MJ+ and I am trying to use it as a network device. Originally it was setup on my laptop just to test it out and then within hours moved to standalone mode. So far I have USB power from the power adapter plugged in providing power to the MJ+, phone ...

I am planning to transfer my number the same way...but I am unsure, since their live chat people are not very bright, what would be some downsides that I am maybe missing too?

I am using Linksys E4200. The DHCP range is set from 10.240.16.151 to 10.240.16.200. I am trying to use the IP of 10.240.16.40 which is outside of the DHCP range. Using magicjack website to assign static IP to the magicjack device will not take the settings.

Static DHCP...you mean DHCP reservation ...

Makes things even worse if you cannot assign a static IP. Not all networks are DHCP, and many are not!

I also have bad experience with them. Seems like they don't know anything about networking. I have been chatting with them for the past 5 hours trying to assign a static IP to my MJ+ and still no luck. Their main site is made so unprofessionally, and that video that keeps playing is just so annoying ...

MagicJack will not accept static IP address

Hello,

I am trying to setup magicjack to use static IP address assigned to it. Does anyone know how to do that? I have been chatting with their customer support live chat and thos people are useless.

Currently the magicjack will take DHCP from my router, but I want it to be static because of the ...
