I suspect MJ only forwards incoming number information, not name. I've always noticed the same thing. Name information that appears on the soft phone screen (PC) would be from your callers list previously saved. For me, my.magicjack.com is not reachable form any PC. MJ itself works except no voice mail access. The soft phone screen shows not connected - 911 info not available.

I saw that this morning too, 773 (Chicago) area code. I've seen it randomly since I got the MJ in March, but I can't explain it. I've also seen the MJ program trying to get internet access lately, outside of it's normal requirements I mean, and Zone Alarm has stopped it.

Found the problem in the DNS settings of my network card. My fault!

I'm trying to get MJ working on a new PC here at home. Fixed IP, proper changes made to the software firewall and router settings, but I keep getting Error 4. The "ad" panel in MJ is working, cycling around the various panes and the PC has working internet access via the same router as my other 2 ...

I dunno. Based on the inconsistency of MJ I'm not sure I'll still want it 3 or 4 years from now. Perhaps $20/yr might actually be cheaper if I abandon ship!

Same problem to Canada again today - I got through once in about 10 tries. Oh well, live and learn. At least I have a decent long distance plan on my cell phone for "just such an emergency" as Foghorn Leghorn would say...

Here I am on the road with the MJ after playing with it at home for the past 3 weeks. I have wide open internet here and the MJ connects no problem. I can get into my MJ voice mail, I can call the MJ from my cell, but I can't call out to anyone at a Canadian number (I'm in Ontario with an Illlinois ...

My VM has worked since about Thursday afternoon, but since then there's no notification, either by email (which was working) or the green light (which I've never seen work anyway...)

I certainly spoke too soon. This morning it did answer after a l-o-n-g silent period, but my VM has been down ever since. At least calls to my MJ number are ringing through to my house. I also find I can't get into my account online now either (at my.magicjack.com) so I can't set up call-forwarding ...

...working this morning if you wait long enough for it to answer.

Thanks for the response! The only reason I knew it was in trouble was the phone call that never transferred to VM earlier this evening. i don't use that line for incoming calls so it rarely rings.

Anyone else lose their voice mail today? I'm in the 773 area code and all I get is silence when I dial into VM, any outside calls to my number ring here forever (until answered by me).

Same here, using 773 area code (Illinois). I updated my voice mail message then half an hour later couldn't make or receive any calls since about 3pm CDT.
