You might look into voipmyway. You can use your own device (ATA) and depending on sales it should be less than $100/year. Users report excellent quality and service. Yes, I'm a happy customer.

I have been using my MJ well over a year now. I use it on my Windows Vista workstation which is bloated with tons of other softwear.

I can truthfully say I have not experienced any of the issues you list.
I am a satisfied user and would recommend it to anyone else.

Dudes, maybe the attraction of this VoIP service just isn't getting through my thick skull, but I cannot see how this service is better or even as GOOD as either MJ or NT.

They charge 10 bucks a month.....a MONTH ....MJ charges $1.67 a month and NT charges $2.50 a month if using the Duo and $0.00 ...

Right, stuck with verizon.
It was set up for 1mb at the time. They lowered to 1/2 that, then at some point it came back to 1mb.

I tried the revised instructions and the MJ works for a short time but after a day or so I cannot make outbound calls and when someone calls the line I hear a VERY long ring. If we pick up to answer nothing happens. Removing the service returns everything to normal.

I had the TK6000 for awhile, but the issues were just too much for me.

I experienced a major garble issue when using the TK6000; I never tried the new Duo. I don't know if the issue is resolved as of yet, but I had to send mine back during the trial period.

SOME bios's choke when they do not "see" a keyboard attached on boot up.. So your mileage may vary.

I think you two are talking about two separate things.

bitstopjoe means that the actual softphone will change to "Magic Talk " without the dongle plugged in.

newtoncd means that, when MJ is loading, it has the message "Magic is starting" with the loading graph, just before the softphone loads ...
