Just plugged it in on my W7 professional system and it is working fine. Better sound quality so far (with computer otherwise idle) than what I had on the same computer when it was running XP. I did notice a slight delay when each party started speaking, seems more noticable than before, but much ...

Mine was more choppy than static, but whatever it was made regular use with dongle not practical. I tried the remedies in the wiki (at least the ones I could implement with my limited skills), but it didn't help much.

So, I was a 90 pound weakling, all messed up on MagicJack but still unable to ...

Darkman,

GV can be configured to dial your GV voicemail (from any phone) and once in VM, you can select an option to make an outbound call (for free). Therefore, creative GV users have set this up like a card number on their cordless and/or cell phones (and cell phones can also use GV as visual ...

ok, just found out from deshwasi that the dongle (or softphone running) is not needed, just MJMD5 and ATA and nothing else. Since then, I have been successful running in that configuration, even after the computer rebooted.

Does anyone have any ideas how to reduce echo on a SPA 2102? I have the echo suppression settings enabled under "Line 1" tab. Doesn't seem to help much. I occasionally get bad echos when making local calls (within 269 area code).

Does anyone know what the maximum registration expires setting is for the SPA 2102? I'm currently using 3600, been using 180 prior to the upgrade. Both were successful. I have "Keep NAT Alive ...

Thanks for the details. You helped me get my SPA 2102 running again.

I think you were running the MJMD5 as a service? Do we still need to have the dongle plugged in or run the MJ softphone dongle-less. Or can we just run the computer with MJMD5 and not have to also run the MJ softphone?

Posts in this thread (http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/ata-start-working-with-following-setting-t6897-75.html) seem to indicate that leaving the dongle in is required for the MJMD5 solution, and that the dongle can be used (on the same machine) without any problems. But I'm not clear on any of ...

It worked!

I moved MJMD5 and my dongle to another computer on my network. Set that PC with a static IP address & pulled fresh SIP info with Stroth's utilities. Now my ATA is registered and making and receiving calls. I am not sure the call quality is any better than just using the dongle directly on the other ...

I had a SPA 2102 that worked well with MJ before the updrade. I have not been able to get it to register since.

I have tried MJMD5, using my current SIP proxy and password (gathered using Stroths Utilities). I entered my PC's IP address (with ":5070") and the current MJ password in the Line 1 tab ...

These problems seemed to be resolved for me by putting my ATA between my modem and router (instead of just hooked into my router). Than again (and seeing no further related posts), maybe it was just a temporary problem on MJ's end that went away over time. :?

I was able to get my AC-211N-SR working, and it seemed to do just fine plugging into my router. I can't remember what made the difference, other than perhaps just powering down the ATA and trying it again after checking all the fields to ensure I had entered the info correctly.

I also had a SPA ...
