all u get is a 24 hour discount on the new magic jack plus so if u want a second one or want to upgrade from the old sliver one it not much help to you hope this helps

the adapter get's hot too so when u have them both together it going to get hotter more so then if u use the usb cable it came with or get a longer one like i did so i can move it further away i don't feel it was a good idea to use them with out that usb

is this the old MJ or the new one need more info here have u plunged in your MJ if so call your cell or a friend and ask them to tell u the number ! then you will know your number and then u can go on www.magicjack.com and get one of the wonderful MJ tech people to help u to reset that stuff EG ...

hi you also have to remember it has a CPU in there and that will heat up on it own so if your worried about the heat just use the usb cable every one is telling you i went out and got a long one and it keep it cooler and i can put it feather from the adapter

just plug in mj+ in to computer and there you go u can use it soft phone i don't think they will ever have a soft phone for the computer that wont use the MJ+ . they use too have soft phone mind you that did not need a mj but they discontented it

hi the short answer is no but there is a app u can get if you have a Iphone that will let you use the magic jack network to make voip calls but it currently only work on Iphone or Ipod touch hope this helps

my cable is about 5 feet for the usb and Ethernet is about 4 f the usb is just to keep the mj+ cooler there will still be some heat as there a arm chip in there so it normal to get warm but it get more hot when it on the usb wall plug

hi is your dsl modem a router to? as some are if not then u will need a router to use the mjp stand alone why not just put the ups protector between dsl modem and router so then all stuff put on router will be safe

The ISP can slow down any protocol ( EG- file) by throttling it in most case they wold want to slow down stuff like torrent and file shearing stuff so my be there software (EG- net management) is mistaking it as such it wold not be a bad idea to see if your MJ+ works better on a friend net also did ...

when you ported your number they must know who you ported to and then they may slow your sip at peak hours so hopefully u will go back to them. did u try the mj+ b4 you ported and did it have the same truble at the same times ?
