Well, I just bought a new PC w/ windows 7 and my mj expired on Sat. and I decided to not renew. My new OBI and Google Voice works fine for my home phone as well as a softphone and I'll take the chance that GV will be free passed 2011.

Have you tried ipkall/callcentric with sipsorcery. I find the call quality to be a little better than sipgate/sipsorcery.

I think Ipcomms is the best quality with sipgate a close second. IpKall used to not be reliable but lately they've been a bit more stable but DTMF tones would not natively ...

Got mine! (Obi100). Darn thing looks so small - almost half the size as the 110.

Hopefully this will end my streak with magicJack and sipsorcery, although I'm still counting on mJ to be a reliable backup in case Obi/GV goes down which I doubt.

By reversing the passwords, does that mean they're equivalent to the same old passwords before they were rotated or did they just stop it and certain folk now have an EXXX02/03/04 un and a new permanent encrypted pw.

Just curious what the cutoff date was when pw's and accounts stopped rolling. I 've been on hiatus and got my Lucky you Sunday and no change to me as my un is still EXXXXXXXXXX01 format and my pw is still the same. ATA/Siphon/EyeBeam settings still work ala MJMD5.

Create a new shortcut. When it comes up and says type in the location, paste the following w/o quotes:
" %windir%\System32\taskkill.exe /F /IM magicJack.exe "
Hit NEXT.
It will call it killtask.exe, or something like that. I renamed it to " MJ Kill ". You can name it to your preference.

There's sip credentials and there's your account. Your mj account was most likely flagged during an update from June 09. Dongles purchased after that might or might not have had their accounts flagged.

Darn, I just got the Lucky You upgrade and the icons went away. Running as service won't work o I downloaded your 1.4 but it won't detect the dongle anymore no matter what USB port I put it in.

I tried installing your tool but some error came up halfway through. Interestingly enough, I ran 'services.msc' and a magicjack entry appeared pointing to srvany.exe so I was able to start the service and it works manually.

You can download the plugin and test out what you are trying to do for free before you commit to purchase anything.

I would think MJMD5 IS the solution. You run the proxy on a local PC and point your Siphon credentials to your PC's IP (192.168.x.x) server address. This at least allows your Iphone to work on your Iphone/Ipod Touch in your home.

Yeah, it's nice to implement my backup system simply by switching ATA to MJMD5 and checking MJ number in GV while sipsorcery is down. PC has to be on but at least the calls are pretty clear this way.

You make a good point about the backup but VoxOx does not appear to be that reliable for me. It worked once and now it is choking in Eyebeam/Xlite as if the sip01-west.voxox.com server is dead. Now I get a 601 Denied for every call I make and it registers with any random username/pw for credentials ...

You're right. I tried it on eyebeam and that server appears to work. The thing that I can't get to work is the GV callback to the VoxOx number ala sipsorcery.

Well, unfortunately, Stroths has been outdated to find the password since the 8/2 build but it is still a good tool otherwise. PW 2.2 is the only tool to currently get the credentials.

Since MJ/Ymax use their own CLEC, they make money on every incoming call so I doubt that they would want those calls to be crappy quality.

In my case the calls are crappy both inbound and outbound (which is why I treat MJ as a backup in case my primary voip of decent quality should ever go down ...

From what I recall, make sure you use the 20 hex character string that passwordfinder spits back the most. Usually you get like 1 or 2 oddball ones it picks up and the other one that is repeated like at least 8 times is the one you use.
