I gave my GV number to a friend and asked her to send a fax to that number. When she dialed it, GV routed her call to my work phone number not the fax machine. So, maybe what I need to do is to tell GV that any calls it receives should route to the fax ...

If the computer hosting the magicjack is using WIRELESS to connect to the internet, then that is an unstable transport for voip. Some may argue "mine works fine" and thats great for them and also unusual.

If you have a magicjack and want stability and best quality, you will HARD WIRE your computer ...

Just subscribe to www.privatevpn.com and establish a secure VPN tunnel first ... your MJ will work fine in Dubai over any ISP using privatevpn as all traffic is cloaked in the encrypted VPN tunnel. Its a very inexpensive service.

If you have a modem, there is a great program called PHONETRAY FREE
Its pretty cool.... I used it a while back when I had some annoying calls. It was fun playing cat and mouse with them using this program.

For what its worth, I did add a DIR-655 QoS router and it helped alot. Even with my nice router, I can cause some distortion if I am running uTorrent or Azureus (Vuze now) and doing heavy traffic .... I changed my path to executable in the services from the previous loader to:

C:\Documents and Settings\ yourloginaccountnamehere [/b]\Application Data\mjusbsp\ug00000\install.exe

Now its working again....

I picked the ug00000 folder as it was the most recent folder created and last one to get ...

Some update came through and broke this..... all hands on deck! We need a fix ASAP.

Mine actually launches an IEXPLORE.EXE in the background to the mj.com website and I get to hear that annoying ad with Dan and his daughter everytime. Have to kill the iexplore.exe to stop it!

Yes, I used that method first and had several issues with it, but calling my method "convoluted" is just plan silly as most of the steps are the same because both use srvany.exe to run the service. Also, creating another user is a waste of time and running the service that way restricts what you ...

You are asking for pain if you use MJ on a PC connected via wireless, as a general rule. Hardwire it.

Its not a port issue if you are able to make calls. The quality problems could be a result of being wireless, if wireless is the case.
