Are you using the MJ on a Laptop/PC with a wireless connection? If you are then please connect your Laptop/PC direclty to your router and see if the problem is still there.

I believe that the size of the jack for the cell phone is different.

You have to use the one's made specificly for computers. Both the jacks and the USB headphones will work. I hear that the USB headsets work better.

The headset does not need to plug into the magicjack. It plugs into your computers mic and headphone sockets. You have to change the setting on the magicjack to tell it to use the headset.

VBuzzer has a limited number of DID's in most cities @ $2.26 a month with unlimited incoming. Annoying part is that you have to check their website daily to see if any numbers are available. Took me 2 months to get one for Edmonton!

It does not matter where in the world you are, you can still call US/Canada for free (providing your local ISP does not block VOIP)!

If you look closely it does not say cents anywhere and .3 should actually be .30 ie 30 cents. The column header actually says "Rates".

They also have DukaDIAL. I use that a lot and the sound quality is very good. You don't nead a headset as DukaDIAL calls you phone and then connects you to the other party. This is great if you want to call long distance from work.

Some models expect you to register all the handsets with the base station. This is done by putting the hansets one at a time in the base stations cradle for a few seconds.

If your PC/Laptop is connected wirelessly to the router then the zero configuration utility might be causing your problem.

I would do the magicfix first.

If that doesn't help then do the upgrade by clicking on "have Vista". This upgrade works for XP as well.

Go to the following site:

Click on:

"have Vista" and downlod the upgarde and install. Make sure your magicJack is plugged it.

This works both for XP and Vista.

Some cordless phones only allow you to use one handset at a time and you need to transfer the call to the other handset. Please read the instructions for your phone to verify.

Another quick fix would be to use a cheap basic hub.

Cable modem connects to the hub, then one connection goes to the router and the other directly to the PC/Laptop running the MJ.

Of course this will not work if you are connected wirelessly to the router.

Instead of unplugging the MJ, 'Log Off' your account and then the PC/Laptop will hibernate.

When you power back on, you will have to double-click the MJ icon on the desktop to get it going.
