I dont currently use a pc and MJ togather but pretty sure about a year ago you were able to go into your Registry and find MJ USb device and changed the codec for g711 to g729 by simply changing a 0 with a 1

I get the "MagicFix is not supported on your computer at this time" message if I use FireFox. If I use IE, it runs fine. Sun says I have the latest version of Java. This is on the laptop where I run my MJ.

Save the file as closemagicjack.bat and create a shortcut to it on your desktop.

That is perfectly normal. On WinXP, you should get:
1.) MAGICJACK (E) YMAX MagicJack USB Device (CDROM icon and shows up in DEVICE Manager as CDROM)
2.) Phone (F) YMAX MagicJack USB Device (Hard drive icon and shows up in Device Manager as hard drive)

As I have stated in another post, my MJ calls use 83 kbps incoming and 75 kbps outgoing. This is the same on EVERY call I make. I monitor bandwidth with DuMeter, and I glance over at my laptop whenever I make a call.

It won't let me upload the image I have of bandwidth usage. All I get is a 404 ...

Like any other USB device, it works on PFM (Pure F---ing Magic). That is the main problem with USB. When it works, it works great. When it doesn't work, there isn't much you can do except keep plugging it in and praying! Why do you think they call it "Plug-n-Pray"?

I look over at the laptop running the MJ EVERY time I make a call, with the same results. Occasionally, I will get different graph on DuMeter, and those calls don't go through ...

That is probably the BOOST speed, not the constant speed. Check constant speed by downloading a LARGE file and either timing with stopwatch, or using bandwidth meter like DuMeter. Until you know your constant speed, you can ...

I can't call out either. Same symptoms; three (3) quick busies, then nothing. However, I CAN call my MJ number to check voicemail. MAYBE MJ didn't pay YMAX for PSTN connection! :D MAYBE YMAX didn't pay IT'S bills. :D
